Turen til Trolltunga er lang og krevende. Fra P2 Skjeggedal er det ca. 28 km tur/retur, og du bør beregne 10-12 timer.

Når kan jeg gå til Trolltunga på egen hånd?

Erfarne turgåere kan gå turen til Trolltunga på egen hånd fra 1. juni til 30. september. Utenfor denne perioden anbefales guidet tur på grunn av snø, is og vintervær.

Welcome to Trolltunga (meaning the Troll's Tongue) – Norway's most spectacular rock formation! The hike to Trolltunga (1180 m) is long and demanding but rewards you with breathtaking views.

‍From P2 Skjeggedal: 27 km round trip, 800 m ascent, 8–12 hours.
‍From P3 Mågelitopp: 20 km round trip, 320 m ascent, 7–10 hours.

The buses have a break around midday, so we recommend starting your hike early.
Last shuttle bus to P3 before the midday break departs from P2 at 11:00.
Last shuttle bus down from P3 in the evening departs at 19:00.

Our area o comfortable hotels and motels, as well as cabins and campgrounds with all the facilities you need. We strongly recommend at least a two-night stay in our area, to allow enough time for a truly memorable Trolltunga adventure.

Very handsome ride!! It is important to have good shoes, proper clothing for the weather, sunscreen, sunglasses, rodent patches and enough food/drink. Start early in the day and be unrested before the walk starts.

Lovely ride in sometimes heavy terrain. Was up at Trolltunga a little before 0900 and then there was no queue to go out on the tongue itself. Recommended to go early, both because of the temperature and the number of people on the trail. Clearly marked path and easy to find. I was lucky with the weather and the view. Heavier downward than upward. I recommend good mountain shoes.

Plan your trip and take it only in nice weather! Fantastic scenery, and good merka. The first mile was straight up! Calculate plenty of time to get out on the “tongue”. We started our trip before 8 and it was over 40 min to wait in line when we got up. bring enough change and food. There are many sources of water to fill a drinking bottle.

This trip was just absolutely gorgeous! So much different terrain and climbs. I was so unlucky to ruin the shoes on the way up but found a hero with duckt tape! It was cool on top, recommend bringing an extra tile and socks! It's okay if you sweat too so you can change. By far one of the best experiences of my life!

We thought we were in good shape after many mountain hikes, but this took a toll. Went with guides from Trolltunga active and as they said: you have not been to
trolltunga before you've come back down. On snowshoes in a lot of snow and with any type of weather we reached the majesty. We were a group of 12 and recommend going with a guide at this time of year. It was an amazing experience, but hard work both physically and mentally.

Amazing trip!!! Remember and calculate time. Start early in the morning. You can quickly get into a queue, where the buses will take you from. We spent 10.5 hours round trip, with some short breaks. And remember, it's long. But gosh, when you arrive. Can be highly recommended. The trip is demanding, so don't venture out, unless you're in decent physical shape.

We went to Trolltunga towards the end of July on a day of dry and fine weather. Despite the fact that we arrived at the parking lot at 7 in the morning there were hardly any spaces available so you should be out early if you are going to bring your own car. There are two climbs, they come early in the run, but as soon as you are over these the terrain is quite flat and fine. Put on good shoes and bring extra clothes and food as you will be walking for a few hours in the mountains.

Perfect day trip, went up and down on with a good break at trolltunga in 8 hours. Perfect length for a day trip and not very demanding terrain except at the start.

Weekend asp

This is a trip that will take your breath away! The first kilometer literally, it's very steep. Bring plenty of clothes, the weather changes fast and plenty of food. You can pick up water along the way. Calculate plenty of time to get out on the tongue, we waited more than 2.5 hours.
Our walk started in sunshine and ended in fog so thick you could barely see two metres.
We were well trained and well prepared and had an amazing experience!
